Sessions Call For Abstracts
CALL FOR ABSTRACTS ON TECHNICAL SESSION AND SYMPOSIA PAPERS TO BE PRESENTED DURING PRESENTATION SUBJECTS All proposed presentations should be related to speleology, but can encompass any scientific, technical, cultural or educational aspect. Sessions are planned in Archaeology, Biology, Cave Diving, Communications & Electronics, Conservation, Fine Arts, Geology, Geography, Biology, Human Sciences, U.S. Exploration, International Exploration, Medical, Paleontology, Photography, Cave Rescue, Spelean History, Speleology, Speleophilately, Survey & Cartography, Vertical Caving, and Cave Video. FORMAT Abstracts should be single-spaced in Garamond 12 point font, left justified. Files must be readable in Microsoft Word. The abstract must be in English. No indentations should be used for paragraphs and a blank line should divide paragraphs. The abstract text is limited to 30 lines, no more than 250 words, and should not include footnotes, tables, figures, maps, bibliographic references, or acknowledgments. The following information and format should precede the abstract: THE TITLE OF THE PAPER SUBMISSION AND ACCEPTANCE PROCESS Potential presenters must submit one abstract for each proposed presentation to the Session Chair (sessions @ nss2008 dot com) with a copy to the 2008 Program Chair (programs @ nss2008 dot com) by June 20, 2008. Some Session Chairs may have an earlier deadline. Please respect the deadlines they have established. The Acceptance process, presentation format, and time allotted for each oral presentation, including questions and answers shall be up to the Session Chair. Special equipment requests must be communicated through the Session Chair to the Convention Programs Committee. Session chairs, DEADLINES The deadline has been extended due to many comments about pending abstracts. Abstract submission deadline: June 20, 2008 This is also the deadline for inclusion in the NSS Convention Program Guide. Deadlines for submission of papers will be up to the Chairperson for each particular session. Please contact them directly.
